Did You Know? The Great Salt Lake generates enough salt in one year to supply the world for over one thousand years. During our visit, the lake had the highest consentration of salt due to a drought that
summer. All around the shore were large salt bolders that formed from the drying lake.
The lake does not have any fish. Instead, it contains billions of Brine shrimp that thrive in the high salt content. During the shrimps breeding season, they can cover the entire surface of the lake with eggs! The water is so concentrated with shrimp eggs that a person could float nearly on top of the eggs, bearly sinking into the water at all.
